In this transition time of motherhood, grief, and trying to balance a career, I’ll admit I’ve been feeling a bit lost.
One day over my lunch break, I decided to check out some leadership and business books.
And I came across Dare to Lead by Brené Brown.
It spoke to me, so I decided to grab it and read it.
It has been a great decision.
One thing that really spoke to me was when Brené said to write down a list of people in your life whose opinion really matters to you.
Those are the people whose opinion you will take.
And everyone else’s opinion does not hold any weight.
As a people pleaser and someone who takes things to heart, that really resonated with me.
There will be people in our lives who do not care for us.
Whether it be at work or outside of work.
And some people, no matter what you say or do, will not change their mind.
I’m sure we all have a list of people who haven’t been very kind to us and have been our biggest critics.
They can have their opinions.
But the only opinion that truly matters is those on our list.
Our people.
Friends, family, and others who have our back and want to see us grow.
If the critics are getting loud in your ear, put on your headphones and jam out.
Do not let them get you down.
