Reach for Joy

Sometimes being unkind is easier than being kind.

It’s a hard truth that some people will be cheering against you than for you.

Show them.
Show them who you are.

Reach for joy.
Live your life in such a way that it leaves them dumbfounded.

saboteurs,
and foes
anxiously await
our next move

grabbing the last drops of joy,
the critics gasp:

How can someone
reach for love
with so much hate
in others’ souls?

Wonder.
Whimsy.
Small pockets of joy
currency
saved as
the riches
of hope.

Brave souls
racing,
torch in hand,
setting their souls on fire
with peace and love.

Light bearers,
hope sharers.
They leave each person
and place
better off as they go.
